Omicron symptoms are mostly mild and no specific antiviral and steroids are needed for its treatment, informed Fortis Escorts Hospital Pulmonology Additional Director Dr Ravi Shekhar Jha on December 29.

Amid the rising Omicron cases across the country, Dr Jha said, “Surge in Omicron cases for the last few days. Its infectivity rate is higher than the Delta variant. So far its symptoms are mostly mild. No specific antiviral, steroids are needed for it.”
