Despite the threat of Omicron's new variant of Corona, the assembly elections to be held in other states including UP, Punjab next year are not likely to be postponed, the Election Commission held a meeting with the health secretaries of the election states in Delhi on Monday. According to sources, assembly elections in 5 states including Uttar Pradesh are being considered on time. However, a final decision on this can be taken in the meeting to be held in the first week of January.

Corona के नए Omicron Variant के खतरे के बावजूद UP, Punjab सहित अन्‍य राज्‍यों में अगले साल होने वाले assembly elections टाले जाने के आसार नही हैं, Election Commission ने सोमवार को दिल्ली में चुनावी राज्यों के स्वास्थ्य सचिवों के साथ बैठक की। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, उत्तर प्रदेश समेत 5 राज्यों में विधानसभा चुनाव तय समय पर ही कराए जाने पर विचार किया जा रहा है। हालांकि, इस पर आखिरी फैसला जनवरी के पहले हफ्ते में होने वाली बैठक में लिया जा सकता है।
