Mumbai Reports Highest Number Of Covid-19 Cases In 7 Months, Multiple States Announce Night Curfew

On December 26, Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, reported 922 new cases of Covid-19. The rise in cases comes as the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron, is spreading fast across the globe. Mumbai’s active caseload now stands at 4,295 cases and the positivity rate has jumped to 2.64 per cent. Meanwhile, as Covid-19 cases surge in the country, many states have announced night curfew. In Delhi, night curfew will be imposed from 11 pm to 5 am from December 27, 2021. Maharashtra has imposed a night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am. In Karnataka, night curfew will be imposed from December 28. Timings for curfew would be 10 pm to 5 am. Uttar Pradesh has also imposed a night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am. Assam also announced a night curfew from 11:30 pm to 6 am. Haryana has also announced a night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am. The Madhya Pradesh government has also imposed night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am. In Gujarat, the duration of the night curfew has been extended by two hours. Watch the video to know.
