I Was Born With 2 Vaginas - Can I Have A Baby? | BORN DIFFERENT

A DANCER has told of how a routine gynaecologist appointment led to the discovery that she has two complete reproductive systems. As a teenager, Paige, now 20, had irregular periods - but didn't think much of it. Then, aged 18, she went for a checkup and was immediately referred for an MRI scan, which revealed that she has two vaginas, two uteruses, and two cervixes, separated by a thin piece of tissue called a septum. Initially, medics thought she had uterine didelphys, but it has recently been confirmed that she has a similar, rarer condition called complete septate uterus. "Doctors hadn't seen a patient like me in 10 years," said Paige. "I had no idea that this condition existed." One of the toughest things for Paige so far has been coming to terms with potential fertility complications, like miscarriage or premature labour. "Being told when you’re 18 that you might not be able to have kids is just something that is really hard to hear," she said. Last year, Paige, who has also found love with boyfriend Hugh, decided to speak out about her condition on TikTok. Though she does have to deal with some negative comments, she takes pride in the opportunity to educate people, and connect with other women around the world living with the same condition. "A lot of people have questioned why I've gone public about something that's so personal to me," she said. "I just believe that no parts of any human body should be shamed or hidden. Ultimately, my goal is for people to be proud of their bodies, no matter how they were born or how they choose to be."
