General Bipin Rawat's Mortal Remains Arrive In Delhi, Service Chiefs, PM Modi, Rajnath Singh & Others Pay Their Respect

On December 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his last respects to Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife, and the 11 others who died in a chopper crash on December 8 in Tamil Nadu. PM Modi paid floral tributes to all the 13 people. The bodies of the 13 people who lost their lives in the tragedy, were flown back to Delhi on a C130-J Super Hercules aircraft. After paying his last respects, PM Modi tweeted, “India will never forget their rich contribution.” PM Modi also met the family members of the deceased. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid his last respects. NSA Ajit Doval paid his tributes to Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and the others. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin tweeted, “With a heavy heart, I paid my salutes and last respects, on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu.” The cremation will take place on December 10.
