Delhi Govt Announces Reduction In VAT Charged On Fuel, Petrol Prices To Drop By Rs 8

On December 1, the Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government reduced value-added tax (VAT) on petrol to 19.40 per cent from 30 per cent. With this reduction, the petrol rates will now come down by Rs 8 per litre in Delhi. The new prices will be effective from midnight on December 1. This decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier in the day. Kejriwal took to Twitter to share the news and said, “Petrol and diesel will become cheaper in Delhi as compared to other cities of NCR.” Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted, “Happy that non-BJP states are also following the example set by the Central Govt.” Watch the video to know more.
