Dutton warns of consequences if China invades Taiwan
  • 2 years ago
The Defence Minister Peter Dutton has declared that China sees other countries in the region as "tributary states" and is warning that Beijing would quickly dominate Asia if it succeeds in invading Taiwan. Mr Dutton said Australia's main desire was to secure peace through deterring China from aggression, with the help of other neighbouring countries. However, he said, if China took control of Taiwan, it would then quickly seize other disputed areas, including the Senkaku Islands, which are claimed by both China and Japan.
