It was one year ago today that thousands of farmers, particularly those from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, descended on the borders of Delhi, demanding repeal of the three contentious farm laws. The government may have announced its intention to rollback the legislation, but the farmers’ stir is going strong.
Meanwhile, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh is once again at the centre of a major controversy. A day after the absconding top cop promised to cooperate with police investigation into the extortion case against him, a former Mumbai ACP has accused Param Bir Singh of acting against the interests of the country during the 26/11 terror attack.
