After over one year of agitation over farm laws, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that the Centre will repeal the three controversial laws which were passed in Parliament in September last year. PM Modi apologized and said that the government failed to convince a section of farmers. While during his three-day visit in Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister on Friday handed over a slew of indigenously-developed defence equipment to the three military Services in Jhansi. This was aimed under India's push for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in defence manufacturing capabilities. Will this big step of repealing three contentious farm laws prove as a masterstroke of PM Modi.
