Businesses in Tunbridge Wells say they could go bust if roadworks in the area continue.
The Council are currently undertaking a £1.3 million plan to increase footfall in around Monson Road and Mount Pleasant, as well as making it safer for shoppers.
However, businesses in the area are concerned that a lack of passing traffic could severely reduce trade.
