Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made a surprise visit to Kent today, but it was not without its complications.

Johnson pulled out of a trip to Rochester, citing security reasons for his late cancellation.

Around 1,000 supporters and protesters had gathered in the town, anticipating his arrival.

Earlier in the day, the PM made a speech and fielded questions at the Detling Showground.
