Third day- Arghya of the evening (Kartik Shukla Paksha Shashthi) The third day is the main day of Chhath festival. In this, Ardhya is offered to the Sun God in the evening on Shashti Tithi. Before offering Arghya to the Sun, people gather on the banks of the rivers and decorate the soup in bamboo baskets with fruits, thekua, laddus and other worship materials. Vrati worships Chhathi Mai and offers prayers to the Sun and prays for the happiness and prosperity of her family. Required material for Chhath Puja Bamboo basket or soup, milk, thekua, water, sugarcane with leaves, coconut with water, rice, vermilion, lamp, incense, green plant of ginger, turmeric, radish, sweet lemon, custard apple, banana, pear, Sweet potato, Suthni, incense sticks, incense sticks, camphor, sweets, jaggery, rice flour, wheat, betel nut, honey, kumkum, sandalwood.

तीसरा दिन छठ पर्व का मुख्य दिन होता है। इसमें षष्ठी तिथि पर शाम के समय सूर्यदेव को अर्ध्य दिया जाता जाता है। सूर्य को अर्घ्य देने से पहले नदियों के किनारे लोग एकत्रित होकर बांस की टोकरी में फल, ठेकुआ, लड्डू और अन्य पूजन सामग्री को सूप में सजाया जाता है। व्रती छठी माई की पूजा करती हैं और सूर्य को अर्घ्य देते हुए अपने परिवार के सुख समृद्धि की कामना करती है। छठ पूजा आवश्यक सामग्री बांस की टोकरी या सूप, दूध, ठेकुआ, जल, पत्ते लगे गन्ने, पानी वाला नारियल, चावल, सिंदूर, दीपक, धूप, अदरक का हरा पौधा, हल्दी, मूली, मीठा नींबू, शरीफा, केला, नाशपाती, शकरकंदी, सुथनी, अगरबत्ती, धूप बत्ती, कपूर, मिठाई, गुड़, चावल का आटा, गेहूंपान, सुपारी, शहद, कुमकुम, चंदन।
