Residents of Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj claim that cows in the city are dying of neglect, hunger, and thirst. They claim near-dead cows are not being attended to and are being buried alive. Angered by the condition of the cows and the filthy state of the government cow shelters, the villagers even took to the streets. But the district magistrate has refuted the claim, saying only one cow has died of illness.
