ADP Says Payrolls Rose
The ADP National Employment Report—released by the corporate payroll and human resources management firm—indicates that private payrolls saw an increase of over 570,000 jobs in October. Analysts believed that the economy would only add 400,000 jobs. The report is generated with assistance from Moody’s Analytics, and it serves as a key indicator of economic growth. Some believe that indicators are improving because the Delta variant caused a major slowdown in economic growth this past summer. Initial claims for unemployment have dropped below 300,000, and the important Conference Board Labor Market Differential hit a 21-year high on Tuesday. The Institute for Supply Management also said that employment rose last month. A Reuters survey of economists found that government hiring has risen by 50,000 jobs. Even as shortages linger, it is clear that the economy is pointing in the right direction as economists also believe the Federal Reserve will end pandemic era policies at the conclusion of its policy meeting on Wednesday.
