Thousands of spectators gather for Melbourne Cup after months of lockdown

There was no birdcage or packed grandstand, but there were 10 thousand spectators trackside on a picture perfect day for the cup. They wore hats and fascinators - embracing the opportuinity to frock up after months in lockdown.
