Finnish scientists create 'sustainable' lab-grown coffee
  • 2 years ago
Scientists at the Finnish Technical Research Center, VTT, are trying to grow a sustainable coffee in a lab. The coffee is not ground from beans but instead grown from a cluster of coffee plant cells under closely controlled conditions.
The researchers believe their coffee would be one of the answers to shrinking global coffee production capacities as well as avoid environmental pitfalls due to the mass production of the water-gready crop.
