A day before the publication of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) list in Assam, the state Director General of Police said that security measures have been tightened across the region. While speaking to media, DGP said, “We are making a good use of social media to reach out to public. If anybody comes up with hate post or wrong messages, we've told local OCs (Officer-in charge) to take strict legal action be taken.”
