China Puts Lanzhou Under Lockdown As Covid-19 Cases Rise

On October 26, China put Lanzhou, a city of four million people under lockdown. This comes amid a rise in Covid-19 cases. Residents have been asked not to leave their homes except during emergencies. Fresh restrictions come as China reported 29 new domestic cases, including six cases in Lanzhou. A statement from the authorities as reported by AFP stated that entry and exit of residents would be strictly controlled and limited to essential supplies or medical treatment.
