Ashok Gehlot, Kamal Nath & Bhupesh Baghel get Rahul’s nod | Will they help Congress win in 2019?
Congress just announced three new Chief Ministers: Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh, Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan and Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh. Sachin Pilot was made Deputy Chief Minister in Rajasthan.

The three states won by Congress in the latest elections are home to 14% of India’s population. BJP lost these states to Congress on December 11. Over the last 9 months, BJP lost its footing over 1/5th of the country’s voter base, starting with losing Andhra Pradesh when the party’s alliance with TDP fell apart. Before the split, BJP was ruling 21 states — that’s home to 70% of India’s population. Now, the picture is quite different. For the first time since 2014, BJP’s state-level strength is dropping.

After winning the General Elections, BJP started landing wins in other parts of the country. Political analysts say the recent elections in the heart of the country are a precursor to what the General Elections will bring.

But does this mean that BJP won’t win in 2019? Not necessarily.
