India's First Tribal Queen Contest, 'Adi Rani', Held In Odisha

Kalinga Gourav, an organisation committed to unearthing hidden talent from the interiors of Odisha, organised the first ever Kalinga Adi Rani (tribal queen) Contest, 2018 in collaboration with the Tribal Affairs and Tourism departments of Odisha Government in Bhubaneswar on Sunday (June 24). A total of 20 participants participated in the final round.

Pallavi Dhurua, a tribal woman from Koraput district was crowned the first 'Kalinga Adi Rani' at the glittering ceremony while Rashmirekha Hansda was adjudged as the first runners-up and Panchami Majhi the second runners-up by a jury headed by Padmashree Tulasi Munda, a veteran activist who has worked all her life for the development of tribals.
