Russian, Tajik troops hold joint drills near Afghan border

Russian and Tajik forces conduct joint military operations at the Kharb-Maidon practice range, 20 kilometers from the Tajik-Afghan border, according to footage released by the Russian Defense Ministry. "All combat drills are geared to preventing threats that may develop outside Tajikistan and Russia," the deputy chief of the Central Military Region’s commander and Russia's commander of the joint military exercise, Lieutenant-General Yevgeny Poplavsky, says in a statement.
