Anthony Michael Hall says director John Hughes was like a family member to him. He gave Hall "the confidence to trust yourself and try new things," the actor said. Their collaboration was destined, Hall shared on "Salon Talks." Hughes wrote the screenplay for Hall's first acting role in "National Lampoon's Vacation" before Hall went on to star in Hughes' films "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club," and "Weird Science." Hall also opened up to Salon's Mary Elizabeth Williams about the everlasting "Brat Pack" term that’s followed him and his peers.
