Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was detained by the Lucknow Police on Wednesday when she was on her way to Agra to meet the family members of a man who allegedly died in police custody. The Lucknow Police said the Congress general secretary was detained as Section 144 of CrPC was in place. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was stopped at the Lucknow-Agra expressway by the police as the Agra district magistrate had requested not to allow any political person to go there following the man's death.
