During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, not many soldiers were deployed in Longewala. Pakistan made a plan to attack the less deployed area. Even though no additional preparations were made, but the jawans were on alert due to which the soldiers recognized the sound of the tanks while patrolling at night.
