A rising Filipino figure skater has been breaking records on the global stage. 16-year-old Sofia Frank set several new Philippine records in Finland over the weekend.

She scored 53.30 points in her short program routine that is now the highest short program score for a Filipina skater in a meet sanctioned by the International Skating Union. She re-wrote a pair of national records as she tallied 94.79 points in the free skate event and finished overall with 148.09 points to settle at 18th place. These records were previously held by Filipino-Swiss skater Allison Perticheto.
