Maharashtra bandh over Lakhimpur violence; bus services affected

The streets of Mumbai wore a deserted look on October 11 as Maha Vikas Aghadi called for a statewide bandh. The bandh has been called in protest against the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. At least 8 people including 4 farmers were killed in the violence. However, Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra, who was allegedly involved in the Lakhimpur violence has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
