The Ohio Counties of Lake and Trumbull have banded together to sue Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc ($WBA@US), CVS Health Corp ($CVS@US), Walmart Inc ($WMT@US), and Giant Eagle Inc over what the suit calls an “excessive amount” of opioid pills flooding the community. Opening statements are due Monday in Cleveland as similar lawsuits are still pending. Additionally, McKesson Corp ($MCK@US), Cardinal Health Inc ($CAH@US), AmerisourceBergen Corp (ABC@US), and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ@US) offered to pay up to $26 billion to settle several cases against them. CVS stock was down 0.79% in early trading while Walgreens dropped over half a percent and Walmart dropped 1.67%.
