Despite the departure of investors and advertisers, Ozy Media plans to reopen, according to its CEO Carlos Watson. Watson informed employees Friday that its board had voted to shut down the company. However, Watson shared today that over the weekend the company had “good conversations” with investors and advertisers. It’s unclear if the company’s staff of 75 full-time employees will return. Last week, it was reported the company’s chief operating office Samir Rao impersonated a YouTube executive on a call with Goldman Sachs ($GS@US) while seeking a $40 million investment. The company also allegedly inflated viewer metrics, and Watson lied about Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s investment in the company.
