The Haryana Police on Saturday used water cannons and batons to disperse farmers who were protesting outside the homes of leaders of the ruling BJP and JJP, NDTV reported. Farmers in Haryana and Punjab have raised objections to the Centre’s decision to postpone procurement of paddy in both the states from September 25 to October 11. The government cited higher moisture content due to rainfall as reason to delay purchase of paddy. Watch video,
