A number of laws will be amended to ensure their relevancy and effectiveness in improving public safety and security, according to the 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP).

The laws include the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca) 1959, Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) 2012, Prevention of Terrorism Act (Pota) 2015 as well as the Penal Code 1957.

The Sedition Act 1948 and the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 will also be reviewed.
