Endometriosis is a chronic condition, where cells resemble the lining of the-uterus. These are called endometrial cells. These cells develop outside the-uterus (such as in the fallopian tubes, ovaries, and intestines in endometriosis) in up to 7-10 percent. Women who have endometriosis have an increased incidence of irritable bowel syndrome.

एंडोमेट्रियोसिस एक पुरानी स्थिति है, जहां कोशिकाएं गर्भाशय की परत से मिलती-जुलती हैं। इन्हें एंडोमेट्रियल कोशिकाएं कहा जाता है। ये कोशिकाएं गर्भाशय के बाहर (जैसे-फैलोपियन ट्यूब, अंडाशय और आंत एंडोमेट्रियोसिस में) 7-10 प्रतिशत तक विकसित हाेती है। जिन महिलाओं काे एंडोमेट्रियोसिस है, उनमें इरिटेबल बाउल सिंड्राेम की घटनाओं में वृद्धि देखने काे मिलती है।
