BSP supremo Mayawati has given a big statement regarding the appointment of Charanjit Singh Channi as the new Chief Minister of Punjab. Taking a jibe at Congress, Mayawati termed it as an election gimmick of Congress and said, "The upcoming Punjab elections will not be fought under their leadership but under the leadership of non-Dalits." It is clear from this that the Congress has not yet trusted the Dalits. Mayawati said that Congress has taken this decision for electoral gains.
