Ishan Kishan got an unwanted record to his name in match 10 of IPL 2020 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kishan played a knock of 99 runs and became the third batsman in IPL history to get out on 99. For any player in any format of cricket, getting out very close to a century is very painful.
In the last 12 seasons of IPL, RCB skipper – Virat Kohli and Delhi Capitals – Prithvi Shaw are the only batsmen who have been dismissed for 99 runs.Virat Kohli was dismissed for 99 against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2013 on the last ball of the innings, while Prithvi Shaw missed out on completing his century against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2019.
