Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University located in Bhopal was the first university in the country where engineering studies were started completely in Hindi in the year 2016. Its purpose was to promote the mother tongue Hindi in the field of engineering, usually seen in the English field, but this course had to be closed. Speaking to 'Aaj Tak' about this, Vice-Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya Khem Singh Dehria told that there were some technical flaws due to which the course had to be closed. He said that engineering in Hindi was not approved by the All India Council of Technical Education. Apart from this, the students also did not show interest.
