Ganeshotsav 2021: Second Year Of Muted Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations, Covid-19 Guidelines For Maharashtra

Ganesh Chaturthi is here, but, celebrations this year in Maharashtra will have to be kept simple due to Covid-19. The Maharashtra government has issued guidelines. Those organising Ganesh festivities to keep the height of public idols at four feet and the domestic ones at two feet. Ganpati festival is scheduled to begin on September 10. In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai municipal corporation (BMC) has allowed only 519 mandals to set up Ganpati pandals this year. BMC has put strict protocols in place for Ganpati mandals. Meanwhile, ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi and other festivals, the Mumbai Police has formed a ‘Special 13’ squad has been given the task to ensure that people follow Covid-19 protocols during the festive season. The new squad of Mumbai Police will take action against people who don’t wear masks and don’t follow Covid-19 guidelines. Watch the video to know more.
