SIU probes over R2 billion PPE tenders

While the health sector is busy fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in this country, looters saw an opportunity to enrich themselves. Over R2 billion worth of PPE tenders is being investigated in different provinces. That’s according to Health Minister Joe Phaahla. The Special Investigating Unit has been going after those believed to be involved in COVID-19 PPE corruption. As of February this year, about 189 PPE corruption allegations have been reported to the SIU.
