The Democratic Alliance has welcomed the Constitutional Court's ruling on the local government elections. On Friday, the apex court ruled against the IEC's application to postpone the October poll because of the Coronavirus pandemic. It said the election must go ahead between the 27th of October and first of November. The Constitutional Court also said the IEC must urgently meet to determine if it's practically possible to hold a voter registration weekend before the poll.
