Elon Musk REVEALS new PLAN on Starship's landing legs.
After some months of attempts to assemble the launch tower, at the end of last month SpaceX showed all its fans its full height (145m ~ 440 ft). However, it's not quite finished, it needs propellant plumbing for Starship, hydraulic systems, and a network of cables and pulleys. And an indispensable part, the focal point of the launch tower, is the QD (quick disconnect) arm, which has been assembled by SpaceX workers in the production area. Elon Musk recently hinted that it's almost done, saying "Soon, Mechazilla will have arms!". Well, we will soon see an amazing full-view of the launch tower. During this period of time, everyone was curious about how this arm would combine with the tower to be able to catch the super heavy booster.
However, SpaceX has not released an official render depicting how the booster will be caught yet. But recently, an incredible render by Erik @ErcXspace on Twitter has shown how SpaceX plans to catch Starship and the Super Heavy rocket with ‘Mechazilla’. And fortunately got a response from Elon Musk, he said that the render animation is “pretty close” to how the vehicles will be caught. “Booster & arms will move faster.
