Heavy celebratory gunfire was heard across Kabul on Friday after reports surfaced that the Taliban forces had taken control of the Panjshir valley, killing 17 and injuring 41 others. One Taliban commander claimed that the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRFA) had been defeated. However, Ahmad Massoud, leader of the resistance forces in Panjshir, said that the news of the Panshir conquest was false.
