The anti-Taliban resistance forces in Panjshir Valley continue to guard the last region in Afghanistan that is yet to fall to the Taliban. While the Taliban fighters attempted to enter Panjshir, they suffered heavy casualties in the clashes with the resistance forces.

Meanwhile, the Taliban are expected to announce the new government of Afghanistan on Friday. Local reports have said the Taliban will announce Haibatullah Akhundzada as the supreme leader of Afghanistan, who will be the head of the new government.
