On Thursday evening, Caeleb Dressel secured a gold medal as he beat defending champion Kyle Chalmers in the 100-meter freestyle. Not only did this victory give the United States another gold medal, but it also was the first time Dressel won gold in an individual event. The bronze medal was given to Russia’s Kliment Kolesnikov.
