TOP TEN Thinkers worthy of Respect - #6: Peter Scholl-Latour

And we continue with our "Respect" series! Here is the next part of our TOP TEN of the people I respect most and which have shaped me significantly.
On number #6 we find one of the best journalists Germany has ever had, a true icon of journalism, the legendary Peter Scholl-Latour!
Peter Scholl-Latour, who died in 2014 at the age of 90, is one of the most important thinkers and most honest journalists of the last 70 years, because he never shied away from uncomfortable truths, regardless of whether they corresponded to the current agenda of the West, the EU or Germany.
He was a journalist, the kind of which there hardly aren't any more of today. Somebody who journeyed to the crisis hot spots of the world, spoke with all the conflict parties there and afterwards reported fair, objective and honestly on the conditions on the ground.
For him only honest discussion of the problems of the various crises of the world counted. He detested political correctness and noted with concern the rapidly diminishing quality of the media.
He saw that the "fourth estate" has become only the stenographers of the powerful, and real journalism hardly ever takes place anymore. He rightly spoke of a "media imbalance" and "mass enfeeblement" by the media!
A heartfelt Thanks goes to the YouTuber Reactionist Doe, from whose video "Trump und die Journaille" I used excerpts to explain the facts about the alleged "Muslim ban" by US President Donald J. Trump. Since Doe describes the current poor state of "journalism" in a very pointed and detailed manner on the basis of the "reporting" about this, these extracts serve not only as an optimal underpinning of Scholl-Latour's statement, but also show very clearly that informative, objective, honest journalism, as represented by Scholl-Latour, now practically no longer exists.
