If you don't have air equipment and forced to paint on a car with spray cans, aerosols, use a high quality paint made for the job. The company sells aerosol paints perfectly matched to your vehicle, along with 2K Urethane Spray Can Clear:

This video is shows how spray can paint can make a poor finish on a 1999 Isuzu Amigo. The right front fender is a victim of not only using incorrect material but also bad body work from someone who was obviously inexperienced. Here I show sanding the fender down with a DA sander and wet sanding prepping it for a coat of urethane primer and a base coat clear coat finish.

Also the fender flare and rubber seal was over sprayed as well as the flare being cracked and how I repaired it. Even though I am against using spray can paints for automotive finishes, you can still follow these suggestions to properly prepare an area for spraying with cans if that is all you have.

The fender shows how excessive grinding and scaring was used to rough up the surface before using spray can primer when a good scruffy and good solvent wipe down would have been all that was needed.
