Almost R120 million looted during unrest

A staggering amount of close to a R120 million was stolen from ATMs and banks during last month’s riots and violence. South Africa's Banking Risk Information Centre says over 1200 ATMs, and 310 bank branches were vandalised. Looters broke some ATMs by force and 82 branch safes were also breached.
