Prime Minister announces Australia will accept 3000 Afghan refugees, but number likely to go up

The Prime Minister has said that three thousand Afghan refugees will be able to move to Australia with the expectation of more to follow. Immigration Minister Alex Hawke reiterates that this figure is just an initial allocation and that it will likely go up.
