Days after completing their takeover of Afghanistan, Taliban fighters were spotted at an ice cream parlour in Kabul. The videos and pictures of the leisure activity by the insurgents, whose lightning blitz across the war-torn country has left thousands terrorised and homeless, has gone viral on social media.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, deputy leader of the Taliban, returned to Afghanistan from Qatar on Tuesday after holding negotiations on the transfer of power. Baradar is being pegged as the next president of the country. Back home, PM Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to take stock of the situation in Afghanistan.
