PATRIOTS NEWS: Cam Newton Has NOT Been Named Week 1 Starter

Evan Lazar discusses the latest news from Day 1 of Patriots joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. Newton was 13-of-21 in competitive team drills against the Eagles starters. Newton told reporters after practice that Bill Belichick has yet to name a starter for Week 1. Rookie QB Mac Jones lit up the first half of practice but cooled off in the second half. Mac was 17-of-25 in competitive team drills against the Eagles second team. Lawrence Guy & Tre Nixon missed practice. Jonnu Smith did not participate while Hunter Henry participated in early drills. Matt Lacosse took a hard hit and exited practice early on.
