With this success of India in Tokyo Olympics, Prime Minister Modi gave a rousing welcome to all the players who had participated in the Tokyo Olympics on the evening of 15 August and accompanied them to the party on the golden occasion of independence. Not only this, but what Modi had promised to PV Dasindhu was seen to be fulfilled. Before leaving, Modi had promised PV Sindhu at the conference that he would eat ice cream with her if she brought a medal for India in the Olympics.

टोक्यो ओलंपिक्स में भारत की इस कामयाबी कर प्रधानमत्री मोदी ने उन सभी खिलाडियों को जिन्होंने टोक्यों ओलंपिक्स में हिस्सा लिया था, को 15 अगस्त की शाम को ज़बरदस्त तरीके से उनका स्वागत किया और उनके साथ स्वतंत्रता के सुन्हेरे अवसर पर पार्टी आये। इतना ही नहीं बल्कि मोदी ने जो पी वी डसिन्धु से वादा किया था उसे पूरा करते नज़र आये। जाने से पहले मोदी ने पी वी सिंधु से कॉन्फ्रेंस पर ये वादा किया था की अगर वो ओलिंपिक में भारत के लिए मेडल ले कर आती है तो वो उनके साथ आइस क्रीम खाएंगे।
