In a first, rose petals were showered during the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort on Sunday. The shower of rose petals was meant to honour Corona Warriors, many of whom were present at the Red Fort, as well as the Indian Olympic contingent which made history at the Tokyo Olympics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lauded doctors, nurses, paramedics, those involved in vaccine-manufacturing and others for their fight against Covid-19. Watch the video.
