The Selangor state government will thoroughly discuss the possibility of reopening schools in the state in September as they do not want it to be a “premature decision”, said Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

“For the state government of Selangor, we will discuss thoroughly by next week the possibility or the idea to open the schools in September.

“We will advise the National Security Council (NSC) to make sure the decision is not premature,” he said in an online press conference today.

The Health Ministry reported 21,668 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today, a new record high.
